I was impressed with Paul and Nicole getting their tree up early. tooka trip down memory lane. T4ed and i got married in Sept... and it was warm but by Dec it was cold and the water heater froze so we had to move. We had put the tree by Thanksgiving so we took all the ornaments in the trunk of the car but the tinsel we left on. We moved clear across town laughing at the tinsel blowing in the wind.
Fast forward we moved to Medforsd Or. My mother sent us out to get trees . so Daddy Art and Ted and I went out to the woods and brought back two great trees but--one hulng over the tail pipe and got scorched and mama was so annoyed with us. She insisted on keeping the tree. We would have taken it as with 3 girls a dog and cats it wasn't going to be perfect anyway.Next time more tall tales of trees. Love to all grandma Marilyn

Fast forward to moving to Sidney Montana-90 miles from the canadian border- from Medford Oregon where it only snowed once in ten years on the valley floor. -17 degrees yes !Minus-17 degrees. We went out and got a Christmas Tree and it was frozex and tied up in a bundle , It was crooked and so ugly we loved it and laughed.
Fast forward to Billngs montana. I hate to admit to one of those awful alumin trees with the color wheel shinningat it to make lights. Ok its been up for two weeks and nothing happened. The cat was sitting by the door and the tree was clear across the room. Ming the mother cat let out the most primal terrifing howl and ran lickety split up the center. Did she jump off nooooo.
She also tore down through the center. She never did again so go figure!! Merry Christmas to all.

I have a picture of the sidney tree that was flat on the back half. It was a space saver, as it only stuck half-way into the room. hahah. In a way it was Providential since right after that, Earlene developed her allergies and we would have had to switch to a fake tree anyway.

I seem to remember the silver tree tipping over more than once. It was very shiny and bright for a kitty to ignore. I was thinking we had to replace all the matching balls a couple times. I do remember that after the first year, it was well wired with guy wires facing 4 directions to keep the thing from flying off the bookcase at the flip of a paw.

also, in those days you couldn't put lights on a fake tree, so we had a big spotlight that rotated 3 or 4 colors. It was fun. charlotte
