Christmas Ornaments
One of the Christmas traditions around the Seattle branch of the family is to buy a couple new ornaments for the tree each year. As the years pass, our tree has become a scrap book of the many Christmas trees we've shared. Lately we've been going with eclectic faux antique ornaments.
Normally we wait until mid December before we even think about ornaments, or a tree, or Christmas Cards. But, this year it seems we're a bit eager to get the season under way. When we saw the local mom and pop home deco shop do their yearly change over to a Christmas store in October; well we just surrendered.
I thought you guys might enjoy seeing some of the class of 07.

So is your tree up already? I want to put ours up, but Laura said we could when we get back from Thanksgiving vacation.
Those are pretty cool ornaments!
Our tree has been getting later and later. I'm afraid this year if we don't get it up the first weekend, it will be Dec. 22,which is CRAZY. Maybe I can get Susan motivated to go buy a tree with me Thanksgiving weekend. . .
You guys are converting me,
Great to hear from you, Love, Sandra
Those are neat ornaments. I have been wanting to get into a tradition with buying ornaments (I want to buy an ornament every time we travel and have a 'travel' themed tree) - but it's one of those things I keep talking about, and keep not doing....these look like fun!
I love the awesome ornaments. Especially the peacock. I hope you send us some pictures of past trees as well as this year. So glad to see you on the blog. Love grandma Marilyn
We are thinking of getting the tree up this weekend, but we will see. Usually we wait until the last possible minute, because we like to leave it up until mid Jan. But last year we hit a low water mark when I was literally banging on the door of the trailer to get the guy to come back out and sell us a tree on Christmas eve.
So, we may buy a fake tree so we can avoid the last minute shopping rush and so we can put it up earlier without it dying.
These are really beautiful ornaments. I was just thinking about you guys and wondering what I should get you for Christmas this year.
I saw some really beautiful velvet capes in this catalog and I remembered Johanna used to wear a cape, but I figured she had probably not worn one for a while.
Anyway - I never thought we would be fake tree people, but it is so nice to have it up as long as we want and not worry about burning the house down and not trying to clean up all those dead needles in the carpet.
LOVE YOU - MOm
glad to have you in on the blogging this year. the ornaments are nice. I'd love to see a picture of your tree with all of the ornaments you've collected over the years.
We are trying to have a similar tradition collecting ornaments... we have only been married 2 years though :) We have a little notebook that we record when and where we got each ornament to keep track of them.
